What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit it. They allow the site to recognise your device on future visits, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is being used.
Who is responsible for this website?
This website is operated by Arranz Lab, Laboratory of Humanized Models of Disease, part of the Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience, Barrio Sarriena s/n, 48940 Leioa, Spain. For any question about this policy you can write to amaia.arranz@achucarro.org.
Types of cookies we use
We try to keep cookie use to a minimum. Depending on how the site is configured at any given time, the following categories may be present:
- Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the site to function correctly — for example, remembering that you have accepted this cookie notice, or securing the WordPress content-management system. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies. If enabled, these help us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time spent, general location) so we can improve its content and structure. Data is collected in aggregate and anonymised form.
- Third-party / embedded content cookies. Pages may embed content from other sites (for example a publication indexed on Google Scholar, or a funder's website). Those third parties may set their own cookies when you interact with their embedded content; we do not control these and recommend checking the relevant provider's own policy.
How long do cookies last?
Some cookies are session cookies and are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Others are persistent cookies that remain on your device for a set period, or until you delete them manually, so that the site remembers your preferences on your next visit.
Managing or disabling cookies
You can accept or dismiss the cookie banner shown on your first visit to this site. In addition, most browsers let you control cookies through their settings — you can usually block all or some cookies, or delete cookies that have already been set. Bear in mind that disabling essential cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
