Biology in the DNA of sisters María and Paula Alfonso

Sisters and researchers María and Paula Alfonso Triguero took part in the science outreach talk “Entre llibres y provetes: Des Castell a la investigació”, held at the Es Castell Town Hall.

During the event, they shared their academic journey, from their early studies in Biology to their later specialisation in Biology, Biochemistry and Neuroscience. They discussed how a shared local educational background can lead to different professional paths within the life sciences, with one sister pursuing a postdoctoral academic research career and the other working in the private biotechnology sector.

The talk brought science and research closer to the local community while highlighting the diverse career opportunities available within the life sciences.
