María Alfonso Triguero

Postdoctoral researcher studying the role of hiPSC-derived astrocytes in Alzheimer's disease and neurodegeneration, combining experimental research with bioinformatic analysis.

While studying Health Biology at the University of Alcalá, she developed a strong interest in understanding the molecular basis of neurodegenerative diseases. This led her to pursue a Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

She joined Arranz's lab as a PhD researcher, where she generated humanized in vitro models to investigate how hiPSC-derived astrocytes contribute to neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease.

She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the lab, combining experimental research with bioinformatic analysis of large-scale datasets.

Outside the lab, she enjoys staying active through sports and getting lost in a good philosophy essay.
